Invisible Join Technique
The Invisible Join Technique in crochet is a way to finish off a project that was made in the round. This technique creates a smooth, polished edge without a noticeable and unsightly bump.

Unlike the traditional slip stitch join, the Invisible Join Technique mimics the appearance of a continuous stitch, making it ideal for projects that require a clean finish, such as granny squares, blanket borders, or amigurumi.
When To Use The Invisible Join Technique
The Invisible Join Technique can be used to join the final round of a project. It is not used to join every round as the technique involves fastening off (meaning that you cut the yarn that is attached to your skein).
You can use this technique on your very last round after your very last stitch. Normally, you would slip stitch into the first stitch made in the round to join (or slip stitch into the turning chains). Instead of joining with a slip stitch, you would proceed to use this Invisible Join Technique.
How to Do the Invisible Join Technique
Step 1: After finishing the last stitch in the round, cut the yarn that’s attached to the skein, leaving an 8” long tail.
Step 2: Pull the tail through your last stitch (don’t worry, your work won’t come undone).

Step 3: Put the tail in the eye of your yarn needle.
Step 4: Insert your yarn needle into both loops of the top of the first stitch made in the round and pull your tail through.

Step 5: Next, you’ll be working into the last stitch made in the round. Insert your yarn needle from top to bottom though the back loop of the last stitch (this is the loop furthest away from you). Just below the back loop, there is another loop that is slightly smaller than the back loop. This smaller loop is parallel to the back loop. Insert your needle into this smaller, parallel loop as well as the back loop.

Step 6: Pull the tail through both the back loop and the parallel loop just below the back loop on the back of the stitch. Be careful not to pull too tightly. The tail has now created two lines that are connecting the first and last stitches and resembles a stitch.

Step 7: Still with your yarn needle, weave the tail into stitches on the back of your work, being careful not to pull too tight. Once the tail is secure and hidden, cut any remaining yarn.

Now your invisible join is complete!
This process creates the illusion of a continuous stitch, blending in perfectly with the surrounding stitches. The result is a professional-looking finish that enhances the overall appearance of your crochet piece.
