Wondering why my prices are in USD and if you can pay in Canadian dollars instead?

As you probably know, I am located in Canada but all my prices are in USD. I can understand if that’s confusing! Hopefully this article will help….

I sell my crochet patterns to people all over the world. Dealing with multiple currencies is not a simple task! Even having two currencies is not ideal for accounting. To make it as easy as possible for customers and from an accounting perspective, having all my prices in one currency was the best business decision.

The majority of my customers and members are located outside of Canada with most being in the United States. I also have customers and members in countries all over the world. As the US dollar is one of the most commonly internationally-recognized currencies, most people know roughly in their heads the approximate exchange rate between the US dollar and their own currency and can right away have an idea of what the cost will be in their currency.

Since only a very small (but wonderful!) percentage of my customers are from Canada and the rest of my audience isn’t as familiar with how the Canadian dollar equates to their own currency, I made the decision to have all my prices in USD. I hope that helps clarify why my prices are in USD.

With all of that said, you are welcome to purchase from Canada! The amount you are charged is in USD and then your credit card will convert that amount to CAD based on the current exchange rate.
