About
Me
Hello! I’m Jo with Jo to the World Creations and welcome to my website!
I live on the East Coast of Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my amazing husband, two incredible daughters and the king of our house, our dog Charlie.
In my free time, when I’m not playing Candyland with my five year old, singing Wheels on the Bus to my one year old or fluffing pillows for King Charles, I’m designing my own crochet patterns.
Charlie (also known as King Charles) with his favorite pillow.

I’ve been making homemade gifts since I was four when I saw a picture of a tissue paper flower craft in a children’s magazine. I asked my mom to take me to my local craft store and with money from my piggy bank, I purchased the materials listed. Once at home, I made what would become my mom’s all-time favourite Mother’s Day gift.
Since then, I’ve become known for my homemade gifts. There was even a speech made at my wedding about “Jo gifts” including surprising me with a demonstration of all the treasures I’ve given over the years.
As I ventured into the world of crochet, I quickly advanced my skills and began to create my own patterns. These patterns have brought me so much joy as I create them and the best part is seeing the joy they bring when I give them a gift.
With everything happening throughout the globe right now, I thought there was no better time to share some of this joy with the world.
By creating this site, I want to help you give the gift of crochet by:
-
Sharing free, simple, quick patterns that make perfect crochet gifts.
-
Ensuring all patterns are carefully designed and easy to follow.
-
Providing you with all the tools needed to create professional-looking, unique and useful gifts.
-
Making your crochet more en”jo”able with stress-saving tips.
-
Saving you time with a one-stop site for crochet gift ideas.
On a personal note, this site is a way for me to give back, say thank you and contribute to the wonderful online crochet community that has helped me every step of the way.
I also want to inspire my daughters to follow their dreams and pursue what makes them happy.
It is my hope that these patterns bring you joy as you create them and either enjoy them for yourself (which is totally ok!) or wrap them up and see the reaction they get. I, for one, can’t wait to see them!
Please share pics of what you create! Or feel free to contact me anytime with questions, feedback or just to say hello. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to my emails so we can stay in touch.
I look forward to connecting with you!
