Christmas Crochet Jar Cover Pattern
One of our family traditions is making Nuts and Bolts at Christmas. The recipe makes enough to enjoy an endless supply during the holidays and to distribute to family members as gifts. We often put these Nuts and Bolts in Mason Jars and I thought it would be super cute to make a Christmas crochet Mason jar cover for them.
With all the cooking and gifting that happens around the holidays, you can combine your favorite goodies and this adorable jar cover with a Santa belt for a truly wonderful and quick Christmas gift.
You could fill it with candy canes, chocolates, cookies, sauces, jams – anything! It makes a great gift for teachers, co-workers, family, friend – anyone!
The pattern is very easy to make. And it’s quick – before the end of your favorite Christmas movie, you can have this Christmas Jar Cover Pattern completed!

Christmas Jar Cover Crochet Pattern Details
The pattern creates a jar cover that is approx. 5” wide (when folded) and 4” high from the bottom. It is designed to fit a pint-size (16 oz / 2 cup) Mason jar that is 10” around, 4.75” high, 3.25” wide across the top and 2.75” wide across the bottom.
Yarn: Any size 4 (medium) yarn for the body and size 5 (bulky) yarn for the top. For the body, I used Impeccable by Loops & Threads. This yarn is size 4 (medium) weight and 100% acrylic. A skein is 285 yds / 260 m and 4.5 oz / 127.5 g. I used approx. 30 yds of “Cherry” (red), 5 yds of “Sunny Day” (gold/yellow) and 15 yds of “Black.”
For the top, I used approx. 15 yds of Bernat Pipsqueak in “Whitey White.” This yarn is size 5 (bulky) weight. A skein is 101 yds / 92 m and 3.50 oz. / 100 g.
Crochet Hook Size: I/9 (5.50 mm) for the bottom and the body and a G/6 (4.25 mm) for the belt buckle.
Other Materials: Yarn needle, scissors and a measuring tape.
