This Round Crochet Coasters Pattern creates a round coaster with lots of texture and a unique round shape. It’s a quick and easy coaster pattern and perfect for trying out a new stitch.

The entire coaster is made with a V-stitch. In this pattern, a V-stitch is a single crochet stitch, followed by one chain stitch and a double crochet stitch, all in the same stitch or space. It’s very easy and the end result is quite visually appealing.

- sts = stitches
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- ch-1 sp = chain one space
- V-st = V-stitch
Gauge
After Round 5, work should measure 4.5” across.

Special Stitch
V-Stitch (V-st):
In this pattern, a V-st is (sc, ch 1, dc) in the same stitch/space.
Every time you make a V-st, you create a ch-1 sp that you will work into on the following round.
When working into a ch-1 sp, work into the space under the ch-1 and between the sc and dc from the previous round.

If your coaster is smaller, or if you would like to make the coaster bigger, there is an optional Round 6 on the next page.
If you are happy with the size, fasten off and weave in all loose ends.

These coasters were designed to fit into my Crochet Coaster Holder Pattern, which is 5” across the bottom. If you want to make these coasters bigger, they may not fit properly in that coaster holder. However, there are instructions in the Crochet Coaster Holder Pattern on how to increase the size of the coaster holder bottom.
Round 6 (Optional): Ch 1. Do not turn. In each ch-1 sp, make 1 V-st. (24 V-sts made). Sl st into the top of the first sc (from the first V-st) to join.
